It is not yet over for the self styled music doctor. Fresh reports reaching us indicate the struggling singer Joseph Mayanja alias is headed for more trouble.
A group of prosecuting lawyers led by Luyimbaazi Nalukoola of Kakeeto Advocates & Solicitors have written to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mike Kibita calling for fresh investigations in a case where the legendary singer is suspected to have been part of the group that tortured and killed Robert Karamagi.
The 27-year-old Robert Karamagi, died in Mulago Hospital, following injuries he sustained at the musicians home in Seguku Entebbe on 26th December 2012 .
Karamagi’s father told police in 2013 that his son (the late Karamagi)called him from his hospital bed in Mulago Hospital and told him that he had been tortured, tied, doused and burnt by the musician and his crew members.
The lawyers behind the fresh investigations include: Caleb ALaka, Ladislaus Rwakafuzi, Ambrose Tebyasa, Emma Kassah, Evans Ochieng Omwanda, Ichom Norah Noris, Moses Magezi Muhoozi and Jordan Paul Asodio. They have been joined a local nongovernmental orgazation- Yamba Foundation
Caleb ALaka and Ladislaus Rwakafuzi are known to win cases. it remains to be seen which lawyers Chamelone will front and at what cost.
Reliable sources told Newz Post that the DPP has already directed that the abandoned be re-investigated. This is the third time this case is re-investigated.
In 2015 the file KMP/E/01/2013 was closed by Katwe police station due to lack of evidence.
The late Karamagi’s father Maj. Benedict Kyamanywa who is tirelessly looking for Justice claims that he has new witnesses who are willing to testify in court against Jose Chameleone , his wife Daniella Atim and the Leon Island crew.
Should Chameleone be implicated in the murder, his headed for life imprisonment.
