In his Christmas message, Kizza Besigye has appealed to Ugandans to always observe God’s law of love, which states that “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” in order to see the future they wish for this country.

Besigye noted that most of those issues the country faced were because of those pushing for selfish interests, citing an example of the Age Limit bill.
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior, It should remind us of one thing: love. Because it is what brought him; to show us love and save us from sin. It is what we are celebrating,” Besigye said.

Kizza Besigye made the remarks while speaking to Christians who gathered Monday at Emmanuel Cathedral — Kinyasano, the seat of North Kigezi Diocese in Rukungiri district.

Preaching more about love, Besigye argued that if we loved our neighbors as we loved ourselves, we would have no problems in this country. Besigye told the congregation to ensure that whatever “battle we are fighting is about” rooting out selfishness and dividing ourselves basing on political inclinations. “At the end of the day”, he observed, before God “we are the same.”
