The Minister for Justice Gen. Kahinda Otaffiire should be the protector and custodian of the rights of Ugandans has been cited grabbing.
Three Ugandans have dragged the minister and one of NRM historical to Justice Bamugerire Land Probe for ‘’ fraudulently ‘’ acquiring land comprised in Kyaggwe Buvuma.
‘ ‘ We, being shareholders and Directors of M/S Janmer Investments Ltd wish to record and bring this complaint on the behalf of the said company against Hon. Minister of Justice Gen. Kahinda Otafiire so that the Commission can have him probed for having acquired fraudulently land Comprised in Kyaggwe Buvuma Block 64 Plot 1 at Nyenda Island. Which belonged to our company’’ a letter dated 5th February 2018 by Jane Senkuka to Commission titled: Complaint against Hon. Minister of Justice Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire, reads in part.
M/S Janmer Investments LTD, is a private company registered and carrying on its business in Uganda. The company has three directors: Katrina Nanfuka, David Senfuka and Jane Nanfuka.
According to the complaint, the Company on 6th August 2003 bought the above mentioned island from Haji Kasim Ramdhin of Bombo who had in turn bought the same from Apollo Kaddu Mukasa Kironde. Janmer claims the person from whom they bought the land is still alive and ready to testify if summoned.

In their complain to commission, Janmer state ‘ ‘ sometime this year, we carried out a search at Mukono land office and found that the island had been transferred without our knowledge and authority from names of the company into the names of Hon. Kahinda Otafiire
‘ ‘ I and Katrina Nanfuka have never sold on behalf of the company the said island to Hon. Kahinda Otafiire as we have never signed, , sealed any transfer authorizing the transfer of the island to Hon. Kahinda Otafiire. We have also never signed any resolution on behalf of the company authorizing the sale of the said island to him’’ the Nanfuka and her other directors stated.
‘’ we have also gathered that after Kahinda Oafiire had got the Island registered into his names, he made another transaction transferring the same into the names of his daughter MS Ankunda Evelyn Caroline.
To the commission
M/S Janmer says that efforts to get documents relating to the this transaction from Mukono Land offices failed ‘ ‘ it is for the minister Kahinda Otafiire to explain how he acquired this Island whether he bought the same or it was a gift. And should bring the documents in support of his transaction. It is shocking to find that a minister of Justice who should be the protector and custodian of the rights of Ugandans can be involved in grabbing our land.’’
