Kayihura transfers upcountry police officers

Who said he was not in charge? Gen, Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has transferred and promoted 11 police officers in a new shake-up.



In the 8th November shake-up, Superintendent of Police (SP) Emmanuel Mafundo, was transferred from Mityana to Lira as District Police Commander (DPC); Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bob Kagarura, was moved from L&E to Sezibwa as Regional Police Commander (RPC); while SP Rutagira Musimenta, transferred from Bulisa to Namutumba as District Police Commander (DPC)
Kayihura deployed fresh graduates who recently completed courses. SSPs Paul Kakamba and Peter Nkulege have been taken Kidepo and North Kyoga as RPCs respectively.

While SPs George Obia and Bosco Arop will go to Kayunga and Buliisa as DPCs respectively.
Kayihura also ordered three officers to report to Professional Standards Unit (PSU) pending investigations. these are: SSP John Ematu, who has been operating from North Kyoga, SP Joel Tubanowe, who has been in Lira and SP Tom Eyaku from Maracha.



The transfers, Kayihura’s message shows, “take immediate effect.”
