Samuel Mwogeza is the new Chief Financial Officer VisionFund International
Samuel is an executive leader with extensive experience in the financial institutions sector across multiple markets. He has worked with some of the largest global and regional banks in Africa with experience gained at Citibank, Barclays Bank, and Standard/Stanbic Bank Limited. His prior roles include Executive Head for Consumer and High Net-Worth for Stanbic Bank Uganda and Chief Financial Officer at SBU.
Samuel has received multiple recognition awards including Top CFO in Uganda (Deloitte-ACCA awards, 2018), Certified Public Accountant of the year (Institute of Certified Professional Accountants of Uganda, 2019) and Top Contributing CFO to the Financial Services Industry (Uganda Bankers Association in 2019).
Samuel is a committed Christian and states that “All good things start with God at the Centre.” He believes that God has placed extraordinary talents and gifts in all of us, and as a leader he is dedicated to play a central role in calling this greatness out and nurturing this to its full potential. He is passionate about growth and enabling transformational leadership and frequently conducts talks on leadership to youth/young leaders and senior managers from varied backgrounds. He is also a credentialed professional coach and is actively involved in finance leadership programs as a facilitator. He is involved in his local church (Watoto Church) where he serves as a deacon and with his wife, and hosts a children’s cell group.

Samuel has also gained leadership exposure in other markets with time spent in Zambia, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo while working for Citibank and Standard/Stanbic Bank respectively. He has been central to executing and managing change in organizations and supported and driven the successful execution of various complex projects within the organizations worked. He has also played a central and leading role in strategy formulation and execution.
He is a board member, trustee and committee member for various institutions and in addition, he also provides financial consultancy and professional coaching services on a pro-bono basis and has done so for various institutions. Samuel is passionate about growth and enabling transformational leadership and he frequently conducts talks on leadership to youth, young leaders and senior managers from varied backgrounds.
Sam is a husband to Christine Mwogeza and father to Dara & Jonathan.
