Presidential advisor on the media, Mr. Tamale Mirundi has said one is better-off not working for the NRM government. Mirundi worked for president Museveni for 13 years now says government hardly recognizes individuals who enthusiastically work hard for the regime.

The self-styled media consultant and former Press Secretary to the President made the remarks while on Pastor Sserwadda’s Impact FM radio 98.4 Talk Show Agenda Ku Agenda. The show was aired on Friday 15th July 2016 and hosted by Ambassador.

Mr. Mirundi went on to list the Ugandans, he says, have sacrificed for the NRM government, including doing things that are against their professions, but have since been dropped and long forgotten.

His list includes former Attorney General Peter Nyombi, former Electoral Commission boss Aziz Kasujja(R.I.P), Kiddu Makubuya, Steven Kavuma among others.

‘‘Unfortunately, these Ugandans were dropped and long forgotten. They are now living like any other ordinary Ugandan’’

Mirundi says these experiences have taught him that it is better not to work for the NRM government.

‘‘In fact, you’re better-off not working for this government else you work for them like a mercenary-they must pay you heavily to work for them and after the project, you part ways.’’ He said.

He wonders why out of the so many NRM members, Parliament had to pick an opposition leader Cecilia Barbara Atim Ogwal, commonly known as Cecilia Ogwal to be the Chief campaigner for Specioza Wandira Kazibwe, who is eyeing top African Union Job. Mirundi says Ogwal is now enjoying the money as NRM loyals are watching on the sidelines.

‘‘For 13 years, I dutifully serviced, defended the NRM government only to be pushed out disgracefully by the people who for long criticized President Museveni and his government.’’ Mirundi said.

He added: those still working for the government are now asking themselves: How do I outlive the regime? Otherwise, being loyal to government no longer works. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah was very loyal to NRM and the government; however, he almost lost his seat and Job of Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

Without elaborating, Mirundi explained that once the Judiciary makes a consensus that the incumbent has blocked all means of removing him from power democratically; the Judiciary will not charge anyone with treason.
