Chameleon will hustle, Rema Namakula to ride on Eddy Kenzo
By Nakawunde Kautharah
A couple top musicians who featured in President Museveni’s Campaign anthem dubbed “Tubonga Naawe” are is total disarray over what a section of Ugandan and opposition supporters called “Public betrayal”
Newz Post has come up with an extended review to evaluate the music industry and those who will be slated by the Tubonga Naawe Syndrome and why Bobi Wine exploit this chance to revive his musical career that was in a freewheel.
The Tubonga Naawe crew include Dr. Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Radio & Weasel, Bebe Cool, Irene Namubiru, Remah Namakula, Hajji Haruna Mubiru, King Saha, Mun G, Pastor Wilson Bugembe and Judith Babirye.
The article does not suggest or rather pre-determine the fate of these musicians, but we are drawing the lyrical future of their musical career.
Bebe Cool, the biological Traitor?
For those branding Bebe Cool a “traitor” should read papers and consult history. A few years ago Bebe Cool came under public criticism over musical beefs. At one point, fellow singer Bobi Wine called him “an opportunist”
In 2011 did the unthinkable-at least according to many, When he openly refused to back his biological father Mzee Jaberi Bidandi Ssali of People Progressive Party in the 2011 presidential elections. But instead, said his support is for President Museveni.
Mr. Bidandi was president Museveni’s long time Local Government Minister. It is Mr. Bidandi who introduced Bebe Cool to the president. Later, Bebe Cool rebelled against his father, and it pushed Bebe Cool’s brand into the political circles of the ruling party.
According to analysts, if Bebe Cool could afford to betray his own father, he can betray anybody else.
For the Bible has it that “Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. (Exodus- 20:12 )
Bebe Cool’s continuous attacks on Public figures and more so latest, when he called FDC legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda “a cockroach” Bebe Cool is seemingly proving his indiscipline that he can’t respect elders and leaders.
One Music analysts who prefer to remain anonymous had this to say: Bebe Cool would have been far musically, but we should recount that his moral sensitivity might be holding him somewhere.
Just like his name he changes at every scene. But we must understand that Tubonga Naawe was such an opportunity for Self styled Music Doctor. The Tubonga Naawe came at a time when the singer was allegedly rotting away in debts and struggling with the infamous “Karamagi saga”. He had to draw closer to those with power for his safety.
Otherwise musically Unlike Bebe Cool, Chameleon knows how to package his moves that he can even stage his own scandals to awaken his fan base. We are not surprised before he releases a new album he will punch Bebe Cool to create more confusion, from which he will benefit.
Unlike Bebe Cool, Chameleon did not ‘cross the line’ that he did not involve in any bitter verbal scuffles with fellow musicians or other leaders. Indeed, he will keep camouflaging.
Bobi Wine– Kenzo saw it coming and they will shine
Self – proclaimed Ghetto President Bobi Wine saw it coming so is Edrisa Musuuza popularly known as Eddy Kenzo.
Eddy Kenzo made his point clear when he posted on social media, that he would not take part in singing for president Museveni, otherwise, he would be painting one side of the communal picture.
Meanwhile, Bobi Wine has continued to demonstrate loyalty to the FDC flag bearer Dr. Kizza Besigye. Recently he proved that he is the only artiste sympathetic to the Kizza Besigye’s cause by paying him a visit at his home in Kasangati.
It is beyond doubt that opposition support hails from urban the centre’s where musical gigs are performed and this makes it clear that Bobi Wine and Eddy Kenzo will freely take Bank loans with hope to pay in time.-when they hold music shows.
Bebe Cool argues that he collects more money in villages than in Kampala. Industry experts say it is all about towns being top opposition strongholds and even the remotest village have ‘towns’. it is in those towns where musical gigs are staged.
Other Tubonga naawe clue and their musical verdict
Juliana Kanyomozi –according to industry analysts, the aging and fading musician is likely to struggle in the coming years.
Radio & Weasel , There is a common consensus that the group is likely to collapse.
Irene Namubiru-Music experts believe Irene Namubiru is already off the scene and this marks the end of her music career.
Remah Namakula –she is expected to lean more on Eddy Kenzo for survival at least in the next few years-experts.
Hajji Haruna Mubiru . He will shine since he public declaration that he was looking for money.
King Saha-down and out or to put in better- finished.
Mun G (It is the End of Mun G)
On a positive note, the man and woman of God, Pastor Wilson Bugembe and Hon. Judith Babirye will shine.
