The conference is aimed to promote activism and give world leaders a clear and compelling mandate to commit to ending extreme poverty by 2030. It brings together top icons with world leaders to make commitments towards health, education, and other poverty issues.
Bobi Wine will be speaking about healthcare in Uganda, alongside other eminent speakers. We shall be demanding that governments, including that of Uganda, increase government funding towards their citizens’ healthcare!
‘ ‘ In Uganda, healthcare takes only 7.8% of the national budget which means that only $1 is spent on each citizen’s healthcare per month. This is an indication of poor prioritization by government, considering the sorry state of most hospitals, labour wards and children hospitals.’’ Bobi Wine said.
