Unidentified men on Tuesday attempted to exhume the body of the Ivan Ssemwanga.
Uganda’s billionaire businessman, Ivan Ssemwanga, a man who lived his life splashing money and living a high life, died early this year. He was buried Tuesday, May 30, at his Kanyunga home in Uganda in a ceremony attended by all and sundry. The flamboyant tycoon died recently at age 40.
The flamboyant moneybag who was also Zari Hassan’s former husband, was buried with money thrown into the grave by family and friends. Members of the Rich Gang, where deceased socialite Ivan Semwanga was leader, popped champagne and threw bundles of money at his grave, after he was laid to rest.
According to Bukedde Newspaper, a vernacular leading newspaper, strange men in the wee hours of Tuesday tried to dig into grave of late Ssemwanga only to be chased by dogs. The barking dogs alerted people who raised an alarm attracting the villagers.
Ssemwanga’s grave has been guarded by heavily armed men. However, the guards abandoned the work two weeks ago over non payments. Sources say, the guards were promised one Million shillings every month. However, they were only paid for first month.
