Recruitment into the Uganda Police Force is expected to kick off at the end of this month at 25 centres around the country. The Uganda Police is set to recruit 5,000 officers this year. The recruitment process in various districts begins on July 29th 2019 and ends on August 4th 2019.
The Uganda Police Force is mandated by law to keep law and order, in addition to other constitutional duties.
According to ACP Polly Namaye, the Force needs 500 Learner Assistant Inspector of Police and 4,500 probationer Police constables.
The Learner Assistant Inspector of Police must possess diploma in the following fields: clinical medicine, community health, clinical medicine, public health, pharmacy, information technology, computer science among others.
The minimum academic requirement for probation police constables is Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education.
Candidates seeking to join the force must be Ugandans with valid National ID aged 18 to 22, physically fit with no criminal record.
