News coming from credible sources in Kyankwanzi, where NRM MP’s are attending an eight-day NRM Parliamentary Caucus retreat in Kyankwanzi District, indicate, a move is being hatched by section of MPs to change the constitution, and the way Uganda elects the president.

This group is led by State Minister for regional affairs Isaac Musumba.
In this move, the MPs want political party with Majority seats in Parliament to be the one to form a government as well as electing the president.
this comes weeks after The ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) supreme organ, Central Executive Committee (CEC) endorsed President Yoweri Museveni as the party’s sole candidate for the 2021 elections.

Some MPs are said to be against the move, urging that Ugandans should be left to elect the president.
However, the MPs behind the move urge that government spends a lot of money on presidential elections.
