In his speech at the inaugural address at the annual Employers general assembly at Federation of Uganda Employers’ association (FUE) at Kiwanga in Mukono district on Wednesday, the National Organization of Trade Unions (NOTU) Secretary General, Christopher Peter Werike, referred to State Minister for Labour and Industrial Relations Herbert Kabafunzaki as a renowned thug who goes on defrauding employers. Adding that he is a threat to employers in the country.
Mr. Werike told journalists that the embattled minister launched his dirty games with Tian Tang, where he pretended to have been helping employees, yet he was on a scheme to con Tian Tang owners.
Mr. Werike explained that, the NOTU will not entertain a thieving minister and the body is determined to throw him out of office.
“The minister is a celebrated thief and a threat to the employers in this country. It is so sad that he reduced himself to a Labour supervisor, while defrauding business owners. Let him go and rare ducks. we shall not tolerate him.’’ Werike Said.
The trade union representatives warned that plans are in place to organize a demonstration if government dares to re-instate Minister Kabafunzaki in Office.
Herbert Kabafunzaki was granted bail, days after he was arrested on suspicion of receiving a bribe from AYA Brother’s boss Mohammad Hamid.
