Man collapses, dies in court

Makindye Chief Magistrate was on Monday forced to prematurely adjourn court proceedings after a 70 year old man collapsed and died instantly during court proceedings.

The man identified as Ephraim Kizito, a resident of Nabuti , Kasanga, in Makindye Division had accompanied his wife-Rosemary Kizito for hearing of her case.
The wife was on charge of assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm Mak/00/co/ No. 928 of 2019. Uganda Vs Rosemary Kizito before HW Robert Okipi magistrate Grade II. She had appeared for hearing of her case.

While awaiting the hearing of the wife’s case, the man collapsed on his own and died instantly. Forcing magistrate to immediately adjourn court proceedings.
Scene of crime police officers were immediately dispatched to the court to conduct preliminary investigations on the cause of death.

Police later took the body to the city mortuary for post-mortem
