There is an African saying that goes: milk and honey have different colors, but they share the same house peacefully. However, for Prof. Badru Kateregga the proprietor of Kampala University and Hassan Basajjabalaba of Kampala University, this seems a virtual dream.
In 2001, the controversial city businessman -Hassan BasajjaBalaba took over Kampala University premises at Kansanga. He changed the University name and logo to Kampala International University.
The University proprietor, Prof. Kateregga learnt about this development, while at the airport. He did not give up. As per the court ruling, Prof. Kateregga retained the name Kampala University and the Logo.

Apparently the war has taken a new twist that BasajjaBalaba chose to take on Kateregga employees with the most recent being Kampala University’s long term serving employee and quality control manager Dr. Amaal Kinene Nsereko.
Dr. Nsereko is reportedly being paid thrice the salary she was earning at Kampala University. Reports indicate a couple of key staff at Kampala University are set to leave for KIU.
Let’s how it will all end. The two are said to be highly connected.
