Jennifer Musisi scoops another global accolade —”The Urban Professional Award 2018″

Kampala Capital City Authority Executive Director Dr Jennifer Ssemakula Musisi has received another global accolade —”The Urban Professional Award 2018” presented by IHS Alumni International for her Excellency and Leadership in Urban Management and Development.The Rotterdam conference attracted about 300 urban professionals with an intention to share insights and experiences on urban administration.

The accolade was in recognition of her Excellency and Leadership in Urban management and development.
The Urban Professional Award is meant to honour an inspiring urban professional, who has had a significant impact on their city and who, through visionary leadership, strong motivation and commitment, has managed to bring a radical change to their country’s development and empower future city changers.

IHS Alumni International Award is an initiative of IHS Alumni International to identify, recognize and award individuals and/or institutions from around the world who contribute to urban management and development, through outstanding initiatives and innovative practices.

Presentation of the accolade followed the “Empowering Cities and Citizens” Conference (November 6th-7th) at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS), Erasmus University-Rotterdam at which Musisi shared insights and experiences in Urban Administration while citing #TheKCCAstory as a classic example.

This event is part of the 105-year anniversary of Erasmus University Rotterdam and marks the first year of activity for the “Vital Cities and Citizens” (VCC) Erasmus initiative.
The conference is organised with the support of Erasmus Trustfonds and The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), one of the eleven Ministries of the Dutch Central Government.
second time in a space of two month for Musisi to win an international accolade.

The first time was in September 2018 at the Africa Virtuous Women Awards 2018 held in Abuja Nigeria where she won the African Agent of Change Award.

Mansi Jasuja the president of HIS-Alumni International Board, said that Musisis’ victory was after a successful selection process by distinguishing members of jury.In the letter addressed to Musisi, he said, “You have been chosen by our distinguished members of the jury as a runner-up.”
