The Christmas and New Year festive season is characterized by increased pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic with resultant increase in road traffic accidents.
In an effort to ensure rapid response to these emergency cases, the Ministry of Health has deployed a fleet of 10 ambulances for the Kampala Metropolitan area and along the major highways. A crew of 60 professional ambulance officers will man the vehicles and offer emergency care in the locations highlighted below:
Kampala- Jinja Highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Mukono HC IV and Kawolo Hospital.Kampala- Gulu Highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Bombo trading centre and Kasana Health Center IV.Kampala- Masaka highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Kayabwe and Kamengo.
While for Kampala- Entebbe Highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Kajjansi and Kitende. Kampala- Mityana Highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Buloba and Bujjuko. Kampala- Hoima Highway: Ambulances will be stationed at Kakiri and Busunju.
And for Kampala Metropolitan area: An ambulance will be stationed at China-Uganda Friendship Hospital Naguru. These ambulances will be deployed on a 24 hour basis and can be reached through the following contact numbers: +256782-430333 / +256-755378085/ +256772- 451797
