The Busoga is mourning the death of her former kingdom prime minister William Wilberforce Kiwagama who died on Friday night.
Hon Kiwagama was the Kingdom Prime minister between 1997 to 2004, a period Busoga kingdom is said to have vigorously urged its residents to ensure home hygiene and sanitation through homestead sanitation Instituted by the kingdom.
The kingdom spokesperson Andrew Ntange described the death of Mr Kiwagana as a tragedy to Busoga Kingdom because of his vast experience and knowledge of Busoga issues.
“He has died at the time the Kyabazinga and the whole institution greatly need people of his kind to offer relevant advice to the revival of Busoga’s glory and fame. Remember the Kyabazinga has just enrolled a new programme for the kingdom” he said.
He was also the Member of Parliament for Bunya west right from the times of constituent assembly to the 7th parliament.
His body is expected in Busoga Lukiiko on Tuesday to recognize his distinguished contribution to the kingdom and pay last respect and later in Mayuge District Local Council.
