Dubai convention to boost trade between Uganda and United Arab Emirates

The Uganda Embassy in Abu Dhabi in partnership with the Association of Ugandans in United Arab Emirates (UAE) have organized a 4-day Convention in Dubai.
The Convention runs from 15th to 18th October 2019 at Hyatt Regency Dubai under the theme “Joining hands to seize opportunities”.



The four day event is expected to attract thousands of business men and women from Uganda and UAE.
UAE holds so much trade opportunities that can benefit the business community in Uganda.
The UAE is currently the number one destination for Ugandan exports. According to a 2016/17 Uganda Bureau of Statistics Report, export values increased from $ 35 Million in 2014 to $600 Million in 2017.

Uganda imports from UAE was $659.72 million during 2017, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade. UAE ranks 3rd after China and India in countries making a killing from Uganda in exports.
The theme for this year’s Convention is in tandem with the theme for the Dubai Expo2020 in which Uganda chose the theme ‘Park of Opportunity’.



The convention seeks to among others build the capacity of interested participants from Uganda on the UAE export processes, promote Ugandan made products and services and also create partnerships that can promote resilient trade between the two countries.
Ugandans are encouraged to participate in the convention.
