As Coronavirus forces us to remain behind closed doors, my thoughts are out for one group-the Health Care Workers.
The words of the Night Guard’s Oath ring clear;
Hear my words and bear witness to my vow.
Night gathers, and now my watch begins.
It shall not end until my death.
I shall take no wife, hold no lands, and father no children.
I shall wear no crowns and win no glory.
I shall live and die at my post.
I am the sword in the darkness.
I am the watcher on the walls.
I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night’s Watch, for this night and all the nights to come”
As the world cowers in hiding, health workers are on the Frontline guarding the realms of men.
With worn-out tools and minimal protection, they watch over us day and night ready to die at their post.
They handle dangerous patients, with dangerous samples not sure of the next suspected malaria could be Corona.
Their work, un-appetizing to say the least wins them no praise, no glory, no crowns.
Take a minute today to pray for health care workers, those you know and those you don’t. It’s truly a sacrifice!
