KCCA FC went into the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup against Al Masry of Egypt knowing even defeat could see them progress.
Yet it did not take long before their nerves and confidence were tested to the core.
Danger came in for KCCA in 25th minute, when Ahmed Goma timed his run and a long ball was killed and glided on for him by an Al-Masry player and the striker clinically slotted past custodian Benjamin Ochan to draw the tie level one-all on aggregate after 25 minutes.
With the game tied after full time, the two teams went for the unpredictable penalty shootout.
KCCA’s Benjamin Ochan was the first the goal. Al Masry Ossama Moursi converted his goal making it 1:0
Geoffrey Sserunkuma took KCCA’s first shoot, making no mistake to make it 1-1.
Ochan then saved Said Elsaid’s kick.
Muzamiru Mutyaba, then converted his and, making it KCCA 2-1.
Ochan was at it again, diving the right way to save Ahmed Monsour’s kick.
Timothy Awany made it 3-1 for KCCA with his kick before Ochan was beaten by Al Masry’s goal scorer Ahmed Gomma.
Then came Brian Majwega, his kick went wild. Elsayed Abdelaal took advantage to give Al Masry some hope in the tense shootout.
Man of the match- Benjamin Ochan took upon himself to knock out Al Masry from the CAF Confederation Cup, after he took KCCA’s last penalty that left Al Masry’s goal keeper Ahmed Abdelahim almost static. KCCA now advances to group stages.
