Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine will today be sworn in as the member of parliament for Kyadondo East after winning a hotly-contested by-elections two weeks ago.
In the oath to be administered by the Clerk to Parliament Jane Kibirige, Kyagulanyi will “swear to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Republic of Uganda and to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution,” as prescribed in the Oaths.
In addition, Kyagulanyi will also “swear to give faithful service to Parliament and support and uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda as by law established.”
In a recent interview, Bobi Wine said he prefers to be called a leader and not a politician.
On Monday, Bobi Wine spent much of his time with his wife Barbie at their One Love Beach at Busabala, among other things, treating his campaign team to a feast – a clear gesture of ‘thank you for making this work’.
Hon. Kyagulanyi will also be designated to two committees of parliament; Standing and Sessional Committees as prescribed in the Rules of Procedure.
After the swearing in ceremony, Bobi Wine will treat his supporters Kasangati Saza grounds for general celebrations filled with music and fun.
