On Sunday, I was very pleased to meet with comrade Julius Sello Malema, founder and leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in South Africa.
I conveyed my gratitude to him for personally standing with me and speaking out when I was brutalised by the military last year.
I also appreciated him and the EFF for continuing to speak out against the injustice and oppression meted out on the people of Uganda, including recently when they put out a statement condemning the brutal violence visited on the students of Makerere University by the military.
We further discussed issues of mutual interest to our countries and agreed that it is now or never – the young people of Africa must get involved in shaping the destiny of their countries.
