‘ ‘Once the struggle is over, Besigye said, the people of Acholi will regain their land, their dignity and special attention will be put on the region to ensure total recovery after years of war.’’ Besigye said over the weekend amid jubilation from FDC supporters.
The four time presidential candidate made the remarks during a thanksgiving ceremony held for the leader of Opposition in parliament Hon. Betty Aol Ochan, at Kaunda grounds Gulu over the weekend.
Kizza-Besigye was the Chief guest.
Religious leaders of all denominations from Northern Uganda led by Arch Bishop John Baptist Odama led prayers.
Arch Bishop Odama prayed for One Uganda One People where there is “unity, wisdom, peace, reconciliation, love and happiness.”

Betty Aol Ochan, adored for her humility thanked the people of Gulu for giving her a chance to serve them and Uganda.
Without their support, she said, she would never have gotten an opportunity to serve Ugandans in her capacity as Leader of opposition.
