Anite: It is wrong to have many wives & feed them with tax payer’s money

The war of words between state minister for privatization Evelyn Anite and deputy attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana is not about to end.
While appearing Capital Gang, aired on Capital FM 91.3 every Saturday morning, the Koboko woman MP said ‘ ‘It is wrong to have many wives and feed them with tax payer’s money. I am not going to mention the names here.’’

While Anite did mention Rukutana’s name, Observers say, she was indirectly attacking the deputy attorney General with whom they have had hot exchanges recently.
Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo recently castigated government officials over Uganda telecom Limited (UTL) public exchanges in the media.
The Rushenyi County MP, is married to four wives and had fathered 15 children as of February 2010
The differences between the two government officials arise out of UTL.

In an interview with the Observer recently, Rukutana said: If by advising her on legal matters you become murderers, mafia, cabal, cartel, crooks, so be it. I don’t have any hostility towards her; if I am among the murderers she is referring to, then…if it occurred to her that I could be a murderer, then we should take her to Butabika to get her head checked. Why would I murder a girl anyway? I know how to put girls to some other good use,”

Rukutana is businessman with interests in farming, real estate, education and in hotels and resorts. He is also a shareholder in City Parents School.
Who is Mwesigwa Rukutana?
He served as the Registrar of Titles, in the Ministry of Lands, from 1986 until 1988. From 1984 until 1992, he served as a Lecturer in Law at the Law Development Center, in Kampala. In 1994, he was elected as a Delegate to the Constituent Assembly that drafted the 1995 Ugandan Constitution, serving in that capacity until 1995.

In 2001, he was elected to the Ugandan Parliament, to represent “Rushenyi County”, Ntungamo District. He was re-elected in 2006.
In 2001, he was appointed Minister of State for Finance, serving in that capacity until 2006.

In 2006, he was appointed Minister of State for Labor, serving in that capacity until 2009.He was reassigned as State Minister for Education, Responsible for Higher Education, on 16 February 2009

Mwesigwa Rukutana, is the current Deputy Attorney General of Uganda. He was appointed to that post on 1 March 2015, replacing Fred Ruhindi.
