26 High Court Judges transferred ‘‘to attain more efficient delivery of judicial services’’- Principal Judge, Dr. Zeija

The Principal Judge, Dr. Flavian Zeija, on Tuesday transferred 26 High Court judges.
The changes contained in the transfer Circular No. 01/2021 will be effective starting 22 February 2021.

Justice Michael Elubu, the current head of the Civil Division, takes over the reins of the Criminal Division and will be deputized by Justice Tadeo Asiimwe, replaces Lady Justice Flavia Senoga Anglin who retires from service next month.
Justice Dr. Andrew Bashaija, has been deployed at the High Court’s International Crimes Division as deputy head. He replaces Lady Justice Jane. F Kiggundu, who is on transfer to Mbarara as a resident judge.
Justice Musa Sekaana has also been elevated is now the new head of the Civil Division of the High Court. He will be deputized by Justice Emmanuel Baguma.

Similarly, Gulu Resident Judge, Stephen Mubiru, is being transferred to Kampala to head the Commercial Division of the High Court, where he will replace Justice Dr. Henry Peter Adonyo, who has been transferred to Soroti as Senior Resident Judge.

Dr. Zeija says the changes have been made with a view of attaining more efficient delivery of judicial services
“The judges transferred are required to complete matters that are in advanced stages before the handover and relocation to the new stations.’’ He said

He noted that judges on transfer should not take on new files.
