Dr Stella Nyanzi on Wednesday told High court judge in Kampala that she recently suffered a miscarriage while at Luzira Prison. She made the revelation before High court judge Lydia Mugambe as she returned for her case in which she is suing Makerere university for refusing to reinstate her on her job despite an order to do so.
Nyanzi, told Justice Lydia Mugambe that she had been admitted to the prison’s sick bay and was thus not able to talk to her lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde to swear a supporting affidavit in her case.
The lawyer then asked the judge to adjourn the case to February 19 for hearing.
Nyanzi has been on remand at Luzira prison since November last year on charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication
It is alleged that Dr Nyanzi abused President Museveni and his deceased mother on September 16 on her Facebook page.
The post was crafted in vulgarity and seemingly targeted at the president’s late mother Esteri Kokundeka. She followed the September 16 post with two others on September 18 and September 19.
In the posts, Nyanzi called on the dead Esteri to come take her son away because he’s torturing and murdering Ugandans and looting the country’s resources. She also attacked Esteri for raising and looking away as her son continues to cause suffering to Ugandans.
