President Museveni held private talks with South Sudan president Salva Kiir about the situation in South Sudan. The meeting took place at State House Entebbe
Meanwhile Reik Machar’s spokesman Goi Jooyul Yol told AFP, from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa that his boss has no plans to return to Juba for fear of being killed by Salva Kiir.
President Salva Kiir had Kiir had earlier this week appealed to Machar to return to Juba and work together towards rebuilding peace, pledging to guarantee his safety.
“There is no point to come back to be assassinated.Dr Machar is still being hunted around Juba. We don’t trust Kiir’s security pledge.’’ Goi Jooyul Yol told AFP
More than 300 people have been killed and thousands displaced since fighting broke out in South Sudan on 10th July 2016.
