Abu Musab al-Barnawi, has been appointed the new leader of the Boko Haram, a group is is terrorizing West Africa. Abu Musab al-Barnawi has been the group’s spokesman. He replaces Abubakar Shekau who has been silent since April 2016.
The changes were announced latest issue of Islamic State Magazine, who are said to be the main funders of the group.
The report in the 41st edition of the Islamic State’s Al-Naba magazine, published Tuesday, carried an interview with a man it called Boko Haram’s “governor” for West Africa, Abu Musab al-Barnawi
Mr Barnawi said the group has been drawing new recruits and is ready to attack any time.
He described the group’s battle against West African states as a war fought by Muslims against “apostates” and “crusaders”.
