Police briefly detained Kyadondo East MP Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine over age limit remarks he made before flying to the United States for a global conference he was invited to by Microsoft boss, Bill Gates.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, Bobi Wine wanted to “address gatherings and come in a procession.”
“On top of the procession and public gathering, the police have also questioned the Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on the audio that is attributed to him that has been doing rounds on social media platforms,” added Mr Kayima.
“Our commander engaged him because his procession was going to paralyze traffic flow at the highway. The commander sat with him and he was very okay with it. We have not arrested him,” Mr Kayima said.
Police reportedly ordered Bobi Wine out of his vehicle to go and report to Entebbe Police Station over inciting violence through an audio message before he left for the US.
In the message, Bobi Wine called on Ugandans to block the lifting of the age limit from the Constitution.
